I have a theatre group of 10-13 year olds in Falkenberg and in the spring they are going to perform Alice in Wonderland. So these days I spend a lot of time doing research of this fantasyland. Last week when I was ill for example I read the original books and spent a lot of time watching all Disney versions like Alice in Wonderland from 1951 and 2010, Alice Through the Looking Glass from 2016 and the series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. I dreamt about Alice almost every night especially when I had fever, luckily that is not necessarily a bad thing since I got a lot of good ideas from ut. The illness also gave me plenty of time to plan the classes and think about casting. This thursday I had my third class with the group and we focused on high and low status play in theatre. We did some master and servant excercises, used a deck of cards to do a ranking game and discussed what we saw and could learn from in the different activities. I am really looking forward to see how this group and show will develop!
